Artist Bio
Born and raised in the vibrant streets of Hyderabad, India, Supritha Bhavanasi's artistic journey began with a childhood filled with drawing, crafting, and imaginative play. Her love for design was sparked at an early age, nurtured by the encouragement of her family and a natural curiosity for all things creative.
After earning her Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from the Footwear Design and Development Institute, Supritha embarked on a new chapter by pursuing a Master's in Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, USA. Here, she continues to delve deeper into the intricate world of textile arts, bringing more projects to life in her unique style.
Throughout her career, Supritha has embraced every opportunity to showcase her work, from local fashion shows to prestigious exhibitions at SCAD like the Grad showcase. Inspired by the craftsmanship of artists like Miss Sohee, a renowned fashion designer, Supritha strives to create pieces that captivate the eye, evoke emotions, and inspire others to see the world through her perspective.
Supritha's dedication to her craft has been recognized through various achievements, including the development of a commercially viable women's wear collection during her undergraduate studies and her role as a fashion design intern at Aravind Ampula Couture, where she honed her skills in production management and design.
Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Supritha has remained active in the creative community, volunteering as a fashion stylist for events such as the India Kids Fashion Week and participating in eco-interfaith design competitions that promote sustainability in fashion.
As she continues to evolve as an artist, Supritha remains committed to pushing the boundaries of textile artistry, constantly exploring new techniques and forms of expression.
